On September 22nd ALJ Group held the 2nd CEE Small-Scale LNG Forum Online with key industry representatives from the Central and Eastern European region. The audience received a full SSLNG expertise package – starting with market outlook, Covid-19 impact on the industry and possible ways forward, and moving to technological solutions, project implementation and specific services.
The keynote speaker Novatek’s CFO Mark Gyetvay kicked off the event with a presentation on Novatek’s LNG footprint expansion for 2030. His presentation was followed by Gaz System’s Slawomir Sieradzki who focused on the LNG market and infrastructure in the Baltics. Daisuke Harada from Jogmec complemented previous interventions with his insights and research on natural gas flows from Russia to Eastern and Western regions. Mr Harada also joined a panel discussion moderated by Felicia Mester, Policy Advisor at Eurogas where they elaborated on supply and demand dynamics from global and CEE perspectives and had an interactive discussion with the audience.
After a strategic session with a focus on market trends and future prospects, the event turned to more technical aspects of LNG projects – TGE Gas, GTT, Techint, Cryotec and Bilfinger introduced their technologies and innovative solutions for various elements, such as LNG plants design, engineering solutions and LNG bunkering technologies.
The topics of LNG bunkering, LNG as fuel and LNG infrastructure were further developed during a second panel discussion led by GuYing van Bommel, the Founder of aWonderland. Mrs van Bommel discussed the infrastructure issues with Martina Conton – NGVA Europe’s Senior Policy Manager and Maciej Krzesinski who acts as Director of Marketing and International Business at the Port of Gdynia. Ms Conton focused on LNG as road transport fuel while Mr Krzesinski provided his organisation’s overview and plans for future LNG bunkering operations.
The Forum was sponsored by TGE Gas, GTT, Chart, Bilfinger, Cryotec, HR Impianti and TecnoTask. The event was supported by Eurogas and NGVA Europe.
Vast interest in this event and Central Eastern European (CEE) LNG market indicates a need for a physical event that will provide networking opportunities in addition to information from presentations and panel discussions. ALJ Group is ready to step in and will organise a 2nd “CEE SSLNG” Forum in Sofitel Victoria Warsaw Hotel, Poland, on May 3rd-4th 2021. With the help of our amazing partners from key industry companies we are sure to deliver an amazing gathering to learn and establish partnerships.
